Taxpayers have realized a low tax impact for more than a decade. Since the 1998-1999 school year, CFISD has opened 32 new schools and experienced nearly a 50-cent drop in the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) Tax Rate. While the M&O Tax Rate was at the state cap of $1.50 from the 2002-2003 to 2005-2006 school years, it is now at $1.04.
