For decades, commencement ceremonies for CFISD high school seniors have been held outside the boundaries of the school district.

Due to the sizes of graduating classes and the lack of a facility large enough to accommodate students and their guests, out-of district facilities had to be rented.  This was both costly and inconvenient for students, parents, guests, and CFISD. (See chart below.)

The Class of 2006 was the first graduating class to graduate at the Berry Center.
