Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. elementary physical education / health classrooms are equipped with at least one computer connected to a television monitor.
Fitnessgram and Dole 5 A Day are two programs specifically designed for use in the physical education / health classroom. Additionally, teachers may access a variety of district-created technology applications for use in their
classrooms.
FITNESSGRAM
Fitnessgram is a comprehensive health-related fitness and activity assessment and computerized reporting system. The program generates reports that provide feedback based on achievement of criterion-referenced standards for physical fitness. These standards include:
• Aerobic Capacity
• Body Composition
• Muscular Strength, Endurance, and Flexibility
The primary objective of Fitnessgram is to assist teachers in helping students establish lifelong healthy habits.
DOLE 5 A DAY
The Dole 5 A Day Adventures CD-ROM engages students as they explore physical activity, nutrition, and the importance of eating 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
