WHAT IS SEPAC?
The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) was created through the ambitious joint efforts of Cy-Fair I.S.D. personnel and parents to ensure opportunities for success and appropriate education for all students. The organization is designed to serve the Cy-Fair community as a resource network and forum for dialogue regarding issues of concern to students who have academic, social, emotional or physical challenges.
SEPAC OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
- Foster public awareness and promote understanding of special education and disability issues through on-going communications.
- Serve as a conduit for information and resource network for the Cy-Fair Community.
- Work cooperatively to ensure appropriate special education services are available for students in the Cy-Fair Independent School District (CFISD).
- Keep the Cy-Fair Community informed on Special Education matters through the media, regularly scheduled meetings, educational programs, workshops, conferences, and any other appropriate methods.
- Serve as a resource to parents and professionals.

MAINTAINING AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
- Maintaining an effective district-wide communications network.
- Sharing information on upcoming events and other matters of interest.
YOUR ROLE IN SEPAC
- Serve as a SEPAC Campus Representative to provide a link between SEPAC, parents, and faculty for each school campus.
- Encourage communication between parents, and school personnel about questions, issues, or information regarding disabilities or special education services or process.
- Share information about SEPAC with parents, teachers and administrators.
- Share information about accessing the Special Education web site.
