GOAL
The goal of the Grounds Department is to provide a safe, well maintained outside environment including physical education and sports activities. Since a large part of our client base never enters our buildings, it is also important that our grounds reflect the same quality care and attention as our buildings.
INTERESTING FACTS
The Cypress-Fairbanks Grounds Department maintains over 1,500 acres of district owned property. This involves the mowing, edging, pruning, and landscaping of all facilities as well as the maintenance and upkeep of 63 athletic fields.
Other Grounds Department responsibilities include the repair of all lawn and turf irrigation systems, concrete sidewalks, chain link fences, driveways, playground equipment and weed and insect control.
Many tasks such as fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide applications are performed by licensed personnel.
Grounds Department personnel duties also include the High School and Middle School UIL game field preparation and clean up.
