Courses are taught using Microsoft Office XP
Technology Basic Skills - For beginning users. Participants will learn the basic skills needed to work with a computer.
MS Word XP, Part 1 – Participants will learn the basics of Microsoft Word. Activities include document creation, page layout, and basic page design. Instruction will cover basic word processing concepts.
MS Excel XP, Part 1 – Participants will explore the world of spreadsheets to create simple budgets and other types of ledger sheets. Activities include creating and editing worksheets and formulas. Preparation of worksheets for publication will be discussed.
MS Word XP, Part 2 – Participants will learn to format documents through a variety of ways. Activities include Mail Merge, creating charts, tables and drawings. Participants will learn to combine formatting techniques to achieve the look of a professional desktop publishing work. Word Part 1 is recommended.
MS PowerPoint XP – Participants will learn to create on-screen color presentations, speaker’s notes and audience handouts. Activities will include changing fonts, adding Clip Art and selecting a unique look for presentations. Concepts of good design will be included.
MS Excel XP, Part 2 – Participants will learn techniques of managing multiple or large workbooks. Activities include linking worksheets, using advanced formatting, and modifying page settings. Excel Part 1 is recommended.
MS Access XP, Part 1 – Participants will explore the basics of database management. Activities will include adding, deleting, sorting, and finding records. Participants will learn to create their own databases, construct simple queries, and create basic forms and reports.
MS Access XP, Part 2 – Participants will investigate modifying a database structure, creating multiple table queries, developing forms and creating reports. This class has been designed to meet the needs of current Access users. Access Part 1 is a must.
