Feb. 10, 2017—Adam Elementary School administrators put a special touch on the construction of a new building addition on Feb. 6 by signing a steel beam before it was raised into place.

The construction project by Prime Contractors will add new classrooms, an administrative area and kitchen area to the campus, which was built in 1972. The site work will also include a detention pond and jogging track.

“Adam has left a mark on so many over the years,” said Beth May, Adam principal. “A lot of administrators taught here in their early years, and many current district employees even went to school here. Our administrative team wanted to leave our mark on the building for future generations to find.”

The team wrote brief quotes for future Adam Eagles on the beam before it was installed in the new addition, which will be complete by August 2017.

“It’s such a nice thought to think that every time someone walks into the building, they will be walking beneath nine quotes about Adam and well-wishes for a bright future.

“This has been a neat experience for our students and community, but construction isn’t easy. Seeing it all come together and get to this point is a milestone to celebrate. Every day there is something new to see as we get closer and closer to August!”
