March 21, 2017—Aragon Middle School seventh-grade student Thomas Carr took advantage of his spring break to attend a briefing on United States trade at the White House on March 15.

Carr attended the briefing, led by National Trade Council Director Peter Navarro, as a guest of the Coalition for a Prosperous America, where his father works.

Navarro addressed a group of business leaders from across the country at the briefing. During the question-and-answer session, Navarro called on Carr for a question. Carr introduced himself and asked Navarro, “What are the chances that a ‘Buy America’ provision will be re-attached to the Keystone Pipeline project?’”

The group of 40 business leaders spontaneously broke into applause at the question and how well it was asked.

“It was cool meeting all of the business leaders and being in the White House,” Carr said. “I liked being a part of the process.”
