May 2, 2017—The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) treated staff members at Bane Elementary School to a free lunch for being the top participant in the CFEF Donate to Educate program in 2016-2017.

Through Donate to Educate, CFISD employees give—either through payroll deduction or direct deposits—to the CFEF to generate money for student scholarships. Employees raised nearly $150,000 for scholarships in the program in 2015-2016.

The CFEF partnered with school principals to further incentivize the program through “CFEF Superhero Mondays,” when teachers can wear a CFEF-provided t-shirt and jeans the first Monday of each month if they donate $100 or more annually.

It marked the second consecutive year for Bane to win the Donate to Educate participation contest. CFEF representatives arrived at the campus on May 1 with lunch donated by Texas Roadhouse for the entire staff.

“Bane teachers truly have a heart for kids of all ages as exemplified by the generosity and participation in Donate to Educate,” said Dr. Carrie Marz, Bane principal. “This is the second year in a row we have been recognized as a leader in giving. It is a blessing to work with such a giving community of educators and I am proud to be their leader.”
