CFISD names new principal for Anthony Middle School

May 25, 2017Dr. Vivian Bennett, director of instruction at Cypress Ranch High School, was named the new principal at Anthony Middle School on May 25. Dr. Bennett replaces Sherma Duck, who will retire in June.

Dr. Bennett has served 19 years in education, including 17 years with CFISD. Her teaching career began with two years in Alief ISD before coming to CFISD as a Cypress Falls High School teacher for seven years.  

Her administrative career began as an assistant principal at Hopper Middle School, where she served three years before taking an assistant principal position at Cypress Ranch in 2010. She was named director of instruction in 2016.

Dr. Bennett received her Bachelor of Science in Biology Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master of Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. She received her Doctor of Educational Leadership from the University of Houston in 2011.

“I am blessed and humbled by the opportunity to serve and lead as the principal of Anthony Middle School,” Dr. Bennett said. “It is with great excitement that I look forward to building relationships with the students, staff, parents and surrounding community to continue the level of excellence at Anthony. I’m thrilled to be an Anthony Raven!”
