March 1, 2017—Aragon Middle School sixth-grade student Nitya Kodali is known to school administrators for being extremely conscientious with a thoughtful and friendly personality. A member of the distinguished honor roll and Horizons/gifted and talented program, she aspires to become a pediatric surgeon.

School: Aragon Middle School

Age: 11

Grade: 6

Accomplishments: Distinguished honor roll since elementary school; high A’s in all classes; Horizons/GT student since kindergarten; student council member; team captain of winning Name that Book team.

Favorite class: Theater. “I just love my teacher, Mrs. Wilson, who makes theater a class to look forward to each and every day. I have never had a boring day in theater. Theater is a class where I can just be myself, and unleash the actress inside of me.”

Favorite things to do after class: Dance, read, do arts and crafts and learn more!

Favorite song: Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

Favorite website: YouTube. “It holds videos for just about any topic.”

Favorite TV show: Jessie. “It is a show that always makes me laugh.”

Favorite movie: Despicable Me. “It gives me a good laugh. I love watching it with my family.”

Ambition: “I would like to be a pediatric surgeon, because there is nothing greater than helping another human being in need.”

What topics/things are you passionate about? Health science, dance, math and helping others to make a positive impact.

What inspires you? People with kind hearts and the mindset of helping others.

What three things can’t you live without? My family, my friends and my teachers. “They are the people who have shaped me into the person I am today.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? “Finishing off the school year and being able to look back at all the amazing memories I’ve had this year.”
