The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has named Gregory McCaig as
the new campus athletic coordinator for Cypress Creek High School effective
February 18, 2002. McCaig will also serve as head football coach for the Cougars.
No stranger to the district, McCaig coached football teams at Langham Creek
High School from 1989 to 1997. During his time with the Lobos, McCaig served
as the running back coach, head coach for the junior varsity team, and offensive
coordinator for the varsity squad.
McCaig returns to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD from his position with Stratford High
School in Spring Branch ISD where he was the campus athletic director and head
football coach for nearly two years.
Having been a part of high school football programs in the Houston-area for
the last 15 years, McCaig was chosen to serve as a director with the Greater
Houston Football Coaches Association for 2001-02.
A 1985 graduate from Louisiana State University, McCaig earned his Bachelor
of Science degree in physical education with a minor in social studies.
