The Board of Trustees of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has called a public forum for Tuesday, October 22, 2002, to receive input on a possible waiver application with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding the first day of instruction for the 2003-04 school year. Patrons will be able to offer comments regarding the school start date during the public forum which begins at 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the Instructional Support Center, 10300 Jones Road. After receiving input from parents and community members, the Board may request that CFISD be permitted to once again begin the school year earlier than the state-mandated date of August 18, 2003.
