CYPRESS SPRINGS SENIORS HONORED IN
NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 

Five Cypress Springs High School seniors have earned recognition through the 2003 National Merit Scholarship Program either as Semifinalists or Commended Students.

Semifinalists placed among the top 1% and Commended Students placed among the top 5% of more than one million students who entered the Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test during their junior year. Semifinalists will continue in the competition for approximately 8,000 Merit Scholarship awards, worth more than $30 million, to be offered next spring.

Cypress Springs seniors named as Semifinalists are Megan Gauthey and Kathleen Johnson. Commended Students are Matthew Donovan, Heath McKay and James Schuelke.
