Trustees Recognize Cy-Fair Trainer

 

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Trustees honored Arnold Thomas, head athletic trainer at Cy-Fair High School, during the September 9 board meeting. Thomas was recognized for being inducted into the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association (SWATA) Hall of Fame this summer and for his selection as one of the National Athletic Trainers' Association's 2002 Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer (MDAT) award recipients. He was one of only 11 recipients of the award in 2002. The MDAT award recognizes outstanding dedication and service to the athletic training profession. Thomas began his professional career at Cy-Fair High School in 1980 and has served on the SWATA executive board and chaired the Secondary Schools and Honors and Awards committees. He also served on the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award subcommittee and as District 6 representative to the Hall of Fame and Secondary School committees at the national level. SWATA serves athletic trainers in Texas and Arkansas.
