Cypress Creek Student Named Finalist for Coca-Cola Scholarship

Cypress Creek senior Grant Oladipo was recently selected as one of 250 finalists in the nation to compete for scholarships from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. He was selected as a scholarship finalist from more than 2,000 national semifinalists.

Grant will join other finalists in Atlanta to compete for 50 four-year college scholarships of $20,000 and 200 four-year scholarships of $3,000. Over the three-day period, the finalists will interview with a National Selection Committee, tour the city, meet with former Coca-Cola Scholars and participate in a range of activities including a community service project.

"Grant excels in science, math and computer science and has taken our most rigorous curriculum and excelled in all," said Kitty Dillon-Day, counselor at Cypress Creek. "He is a National Merit Commended Scholar, a National Achievement Scholar Finalist and scored 1580 on the SAT."

Grant has been accepted to MIT, Georgia Tech, the University of Texas and the University of Illinois. He also applied to Stanford University and Cornell University and is awaiting responses from both.
