TRUSTEES RECOGNIZE SWIMMERS FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE  AT STATE MEET

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Trustees recognized district swimmers and for their performance at the recent state meet February 14-15.

Cypress Creek swimmer Chris Knaute won the 500 freestyle while Andy Crum, Langham Creek, and Nikki Triplett, Cypress Falls, captured state titles in one-meter diving.  Knaute also finished second in the state in the 200 freestyle.

Also finishing second in the state were Bryan Beresik, Langham Creek, in 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle; Thomas Bishop, Cypress Creek in the 500 freestyle and 100 breastroke and the 400 freestyle relay team of Knaute, Bishop, Tyler Hill and Jay Murphy.

“All season long these swimmers demonstrated the dedication and discipline it takes to advance to the state meet,” said George Hopper, CFISD Director of Athletics.  “The fact that two of our divers and one of our swimmers won state titles shows the hours or hard work that our athletes and coaches put in.”
