Advancing to state competition are: 1st Place – Clayton Terry and Tina Sherman, 2nd Place – Barbara Gayle-Haase and Shelley Johnson, and 3rd Place who will serve as alternates – Carole Wheeler and Cheryl Costello.
CFISD teams took the first three places in the Special Needs Team Safety Road-e-o. First and second place teams will compete at the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) School Bus Safety Road-e-o competition on June 16, 2003, in Lubbock, Texas.
The Special Needs Team Safety Road-e-o consists of a driving event, an emergency evacuation event, a loading and securement event, a bus inspection event and a written test. These events not only refine the team’s ability to work together effectively, they expand their knowledge of the Special Needs program as well.
Winners of the state competition will advance to national competition, which will be held in February 2004.
