Trustees Recognize State Champion Athletes

 

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD trustees honored state champion girls’ track and tennis athletes during the June 9 Board meeting.

Langham Creek High School’s Brittany Brockman was recognized for winning first place in state in the 3200 meters and placing second in the 1600 meters, while teammate Nina Gilbert also inished first in the state running the 400 meters. They are coached by Ellen Robinson.

Alyssa Rodriguez, Jersey Village High School, captured the women’s singles state title in tennis for the second consecutive season. She is coached by Robert Dennison.

"It takes a special person to capture a state title in any sport. These young ladies have achieved success throughout their entire careers and are to be commended for winning state championships in their respective sports," said George Hopper, CFISD director of athletics.
