Attendance Boundaries for Keith Elementary Approved
The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Board of Trustees approved recommendations for attendance boundary changes related to the opening of Keith Elementary for the 2004-05 school year during its November 10 board meeting.
Keith Elementary is currently under construction at a site located at Fairfield Green and Mason Road in the Fairfield subdivision. A map showing the new elementary school attendance boundaries is available on the district’s Web site (www.cfisd.net).
Keith Elementary’s attendance zone will be composed of all sections of Trails of Fairfield and Lakes of Fairfield, sections 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Fairfield Village West, all areas north of Cumberland Ridge Drive including, but not limited to, Lakes of Fairhaven, Stable Creek, Saddle Ridge Estates, and Bridle Oak Estates, and all area east of Fairfield within the current Ault attendance zone with the exception of the sections of Villages of Cypress Lakes west of the Cypress Lakes golf course along Mueschke Road. This includes, but is not limited to, Cypress Ridge, Sydney Harbor, and the sections of Villages of Cypress Lakes developing west of Cypress Rosehill and north of Cypress Mill.
Students who will be in fifth grade for the 2004-05 school year who are affected by the boundary change will have the option to remain at Ault Elementary school by requesting a student transfer. These student transfers will not be required to pay the $25 fee required for all other transfers. Students must complete transfer requests prior to the beginning of the 2004-05 school year.
Requests for student transfers not applicable to the aforementioned situation must adhere to district transfer policies and regulations. Fifth-grade students who move into the rezoned area after the end of the 2003-04 school year will attend Keith Elementary. Bus transportation will not be provided for elementary transfer students, as buses will only be transporting students to the rezoned school.
