CFISD ENROLLMENT TOPS 75,000
Student enrollment in Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has surpassed district projections with a record 75,017 students enrolled as of November 12, 2003.
The latest attendance statistics signify a gain of 3,916 over enrollment figures from September 2002.
The district enrollment has increased by 28,238 since 1992 and CFISD has opened 20 new schools over the last 12 years with plans to open seven more by 2006. Three new schools- Birkes Elementary, Robison Elementary and Tipps Elementary opened this school year.
Named as one of the fastest growing public school districts in the United States in a 1996 USA Today report, CFISD is the fifth largest school district in Texas.
