Keith Wagner and David Jacobson, former staff members of Cypress Creek High School’s United Cougar Television Staff, won a prestigious Crystal Aegis Award of Excellence for their short independent film, “Trampoline.”
The team of Wagner and Jacobson placed 10th out of 5,000 entries judged by professionals in the film industry. Wagner wrote and directed the film and Jacobson was responsible for the filming and editing. Enlisting the help of their former United Cougar TV peers to act in the film, the low-budget project was supported by Champions Productions who allowed them to use some of their professional equipment.
Wagner, a junior film major at The University of Texas-Austin, works part-time for the production company shooting wedding videos. Jacobson, a freshman film major at the University of North Texas, has collaborated with Wagner to produce several short award-winning independent films over the past four years. Several of their high school productions were broadcast over CFISD’s cable channel, CFTV-16.
