CFISD TO HOST INFORMATION FORUM ON PUBLIC SCHOOL FINANCE

The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) will host an informative meeting sponsored by the Cy-Fair Taxpayers for Increased Funding for Schools (Cy-Fair T.I.F.S.) on the current status of public school finance in Texas Tuesday, May 4 at 7 p.m. in the boardroom of the Instructional Support Center, 10300 Jones Road.

At the forum, members from the community organization that recently completed a five-month study on public school finance will offer important information about the special session of the Texas Legislature scheduled to begin April 20 and discuss Governor Rick Perry’s proposals to address the crisis. Additionally, CFISD representatives will provide details about the district’s current fiscal status and its financial outlook based on the Legislature’s course of action.

Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session to allow the public the opportunity to dialogue and discuss specific issues related to school finance with Cy-Fair T.I.F.S. representatives and district staff.
