TRUSTEES RECOGNIZE GOVERNMENT, ECONOMICS STUDENTS

 

Fourteen high school government and economics students were recognized by Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District trustees for being chosen to participate in the Board Shadowing Project. Each student sat with his or her designated Board member or admini strator throughout the course of the meeting to observe the democratic process in action.

These students participating in the project were These students were Mohit Joshipura and Anita Altwal of Cypress Creek; Heather Graf and Candace Akers of Cy-Fair; Brett Dix and Kenneth Passmore of Cypress Falls; Lauren Tumlinson and Tonyel Simon of Cypress Springs; Nick Norris and Sean Perry of Jersey Village; David Habegger and Roger Clayton of Langham Creek; and Melissa Smith and Turrell Newsome of Windfern.

“It was quite an enriching experience to be here today. It’s amazing to me the wide range of issues that you discuss here.  A lot of them, I have no qualms in admitting, went right past me. I learned a lot of things tonight,” said Mohit Joshipura, a senior at Cypress Creek.
