TRUSTEES RECOGNIZE ALL-STATE MUSIC STUDENTS

During the May 6 Board meeting, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD trustees honored band, choir and orchestra students who achieved All-State status in their respective competitions. A record number of 50 CFISD high school students were recognized for earning membership in various All-State music organizations. Among these students, 23 were in band, 21 in choir and six in orchestra.

Cy-Fair High School students earning All-State recognition are Meredith Bilberry, symphonic band; Chris Guilfoyle, symphony orchestra; Paul Heggeseth, symphony orchestra; Sarah Bannon, women’s choir; Doug Brandon, mixed choir; Cody Dickson, men’s choir; Julie Lorenz, women’s choir; Phillip Perez, mixed choir; Rachel Walker, treble choir; and Cathy Lian, string orchestra.

Cypress Creek High School students that were named All-State are Ben Croucher, philharmonic orchestra; Patrick Lamb, concert band; Patrick Lamb, concert band; Ashley Maydwell, symphonic orchestra; Lauren Raschke, symphonic band; Sara Tucker, mixed choir; and Seth Young, mixed choir.

Cypress Falls High School students named to All-State organizations are Nick Brown, symphony orchestra; Chelsea Derrick, concert band; Raul Escobedo, symphony orchestra; Ryan Kresta, symphonic band; Stephanie Rice, concert band; Andrew Zarazee, concert band, Joy Jones, women’s choir, Whitney Young, mixed choir; Diana Hwang, philharmonic orchestra; Julia Shu, string orchestra; Julia Shu, string orchestra; and Kathy Sim, string orchestra.

Cypress Ridge High School students earning All-State recognition are Joshua Green, men’s choir; and Natalie Pawalek, treble choir.

Cypress Springs High School students earning All-State recognition are Ari Lozano, philharmonic orchestra; Amanda McFarlin, philharmonic orchestra; and Ashley Gonzales, mixed choir.

Jersey Village High School students that were named All-State are Lawrence Chin, symphonic band; Brian Green, symphonic band; Jason Paige, symphonic band; Gregory Valentine, concert band; Bradley Acree, men’s choir; Katy Griffith, women’s choir; Pierre Minter, mixed choir; Dolores Noel, mixed choir; and Jared Wade, mixed choir.

Langham Creek High School students honored as All-State musicians are Lauren Blackerby, symphonic band; Bryan Chin-Foon, symphony orchestra; William Hayter, symphonic band; Ian Hudson, symphonic band; Neeraj Agrawal, mixed choir; Denice Colston, women’s choir; Andrew Gorman, mixed choir; Amy Johnson, mixed choir; Greg Preston, symphony orchestra; and David Preston, philharmonic orchestra.
