CFISD NAMES PRINCIPAL FOR TRUITT MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Board of Trustees recognized Robert “Bob” Hull as the new principal of Truitt Middle School during a special called meeting May 24. Hull is replacing Darlene Medford who was named as principal of Cy-Fair High School earlier in the month.

Hull has 26 years of experience in education, the last 12 of those years in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. After working for 11 years in Spring Branch ISD and three years in Alief ISD Hull joined the CFISD family in 1992 as an industrial technology teacher at Cypress Falls High School.

He was promoted to the position of assistant principal at Cypress Falls in January 1997 and served in that role for four and one-half years before accepting the position of administrative intern at the Instructional Support Center. After gaining valuable experience at the ISC he became associate principal at Cy-Fair High School and has remained in that position since 2002.

“I would like to thank Ms. Wells and the Board for their vote of confidence. I will do my best to uphold the tradition that Truitt Middle School has already earned. I have some big shoes to fill but I’m looking forward to the opportunity of serving as principal of Truitt,” said Hull.

Hull earned his bachelor’s degree from State University of New York College at Oswego and his master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University. His areas of certification include industrial technology, secondary physical education, driver education, mid-management administration and superintendent. He has also received extensive training in a variety of programs including instructional strategies, classroom management, Capturing Kids Hearts and Building Better Relations (BBR).
