Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District trustees honored winning students and teachers from the State Destination Imagination Competition at the June 14 Board meeting. These students advanced to the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Rebecca Norcini, Sarah Wheeler, Madeline Livergood, Candace Gooding, Pierce Franklin, Harry DiBenedetto and Bryan Griffith, Hamilton Elementary, placed first in the state. Team managers are Trish Livergood, JoNell Norcini and Heidi Wheeler.
Kelsey Sallade, Erin Duhon, Bryan Gray, Lauren Falconi, Phillip Wozny and Matthew Wheeler, Hamilton Middle School, captured first in state. Team managers are Kelsey Sallade and Erin Duhon.
The team of Sarah Wisterman, Carlos Balderas, Jordan Fauser, Jonathan Abushear, Kurt Bilanoski, Kristin Baker and Matthew Caughman, Dean Middle School, finished second in state. Team managers are Curtis Haverty and Theresa Fauser.
“These students have distinguished themselves in this prestigious competition. We are very proud of the accomplishments of these students,” said Ellen Williams, coordinator of gifted and talented.
