The Board of Trustees of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is considering a waiver application with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) regarding the first day of instruction for the 2005-06 school year. The Board may request that CFISD be permitted to begin the school year Wednesday, August 10, 2005 to allow students and instructional staff to maintain a full week off for the Thanksgiving holiday and complete the first semester by the winter break. This proposed schedule is similar to those of recent years.
Patrons will be able to offer comments regarding the school start date during a public forum scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2004 in the Board Room of the Instructional Support Center, 10300 Jones Road.
