After approving personnel transactions at its January 18 meeting, the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Board of Trustees recognized current Hairgrove Elementary principal Sandra Oliver and current Moore Elementary principal Barbara Fine as the principals to open Thomas M. Danish Elementary and Lafaye Johnson Lee Elementary, respectively.
Trustees also recognized current Campbell Middle School principal Gary Kinninger and current Labay Middle School principal Marvin Webster as the principals to open Carolyn Stamm Spillane Middle School and Judy Williams Kahla Middle School, respectively. All four campuses are scheduled to open in August with the start of the 2005-2006 school year.
Oliver has 28 years of experience in education and is completing her fifth year as principal at Hairgrove. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and taught in Pasadena ISD for five years and then in Galena Park ISD for three years. Oliver served as an assistant principal for five years and then a principal for 10 years in Galena Park before joining the CFISD family at Hairgrove.
Fine, a Cy-Fair High School product, has 34 years of experience, all with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University and began her career in education as a teacher at Lamkin Elementary. She spent four years teaching at Lamkin Elementary and then spent the next seven as a team leader at Yeager Elementary. Fine spent the next year as an assistant principal at Lowery Elementary and served as principal at Wilson Elementary for 12 years. She is completing her 10th year as principal at Moore.
Kinninger, who received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University and his master’s degree from Sam Houston State University, has 22 years of experience in education. He taught at Lake County School in Tavares, Florida for nine years before coming to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD as a teacher at Langham Creek High School. He served as an assistant principal at Langham Creek High School for two years and then served as assistant principal at Cypress Creek High School for three years. Kinninger spent one year as an administrative intern in the district, one year as director of instruction at Campbell Middle School and has served as principal at Campbell for the past three years.
Webster, who is also a Cy-Fair High School graduate, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University and has 18 years of experience in education, all in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. He spent six years as a teacher at Campbell Middle School, before becoming an assistant principal at Langham Creek High School and Labay Middle School. He was then named principal at Windfern High School and remained in that role for two years before being named as principal at Labay, where he has served the past four years.
