Longtime Cypress-Fairbanks ISD business partner Texas Roadhouse will receive the 2005 Texas Association of Partners in Education (TAPE) Washington Mutual Outstanding Business Partnership Award for its support of the school district.
The award will be presented to Nick Hernandez, owner and manager of the Texas Roadhouse location at 13345 FM 1960 Road West, at the TAPE annual conference at the InterContinental Hotel in Dallas February 10. He is the only small business owner to receive the award in the large school district category.
“Nick Hernandez and his staff at Texas Roadhouse have been wonderful business partners with our district for years. They have provided staff luncheons for 15 elementary schools and one middle school serving for more than 1,718 district employees – a value of more than $8,500,” said Pam Scott, director of partners in education for CFISD. “Texas Roadhouse has also provided meals for the district’s Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) conferences, Partners in Education (PIE) meetings, and many other campus activities, gift cards for school festivals, auctions and other fund-raising activities which total several thousand dollars.”
