SPRAGUE ELECTED PRESIDENT-ELECT OF COUNCIL FOR EDUCATIONAL FACILITY PLANNERS (CEFPI)

Roy Sprague, senior director for facilities planning and construction, was recently elected to the position of president-elect for 2005-06 to the Council for Educational Facility Planners (CEFPI) Board of Directors. He will officially begin his responsibilities as president-elect during the organization’s Annual International Conference in San Antonio Sept. 30-Oct. 3.

Sprague, who is in his eighth year with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, is a past president of the organization’s Southern Region and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust.

“It’s overwhelming to receive such a vote of confidence from your peers. I was honored to have been nominated last fall and I was almost speechless when I was told that I had been elected in March,” said Sprague. “CEFPI is a wonderful organization and there are so many creative people involved with it. I’m looking forward to the challenge of serving as president and taking CEFPI to the next level.”

Sprague will serve one year as president-elect and then be sworn in as president during the annual CEFPI Annual Conference in the fall of 2006 in Vancouver, Canada. Following his term as president he will then serve one year as past-president of the organization before leaving the board in 2008.
