UCTV STUDENTS WIN AWARDS IN SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY CONTEST

 

     United Cougar Television (UCTV) students from Cypress Creek High School won four first-place Eubie Trophies in Sam Houston State University's National Broadcasting Society’s Annual Leadership Conference and Video Contest.  

     In Comedy, seniors Taylem Stanley and James Blanco won a first place for their independent film, “I’m With Stupid.”  Senior Chris Clarabut and junior Dillon Menefee received a first place for their color commentary of basketball for the “Cy Creek versus Cy Fair” game in the Sports Play-by-Play category.  

     Junior Alizsha Pennington's award winning public service announcement, “Anti-Abuse” won another first place Eubie Trophy.  In Television News Feature, junior Mike Schultz's package, “High Tech Cougar,” won a first place.

         The Eubie awards are named in honor of former SHSU department chair Dr. Robert E. Eubanks.
