The Cook Middle School Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys’ Choir has been invited to perform at the 2006 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention in San Antonio in February 2006. The choir is directed by Merry Marcotte, Mica Kolb and Penny Kershaw.
This is the first time a middle school boys choir from the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has been selected to perform at the convention. More than 20,000 professional music educators attend annually, making it the largest state music convention in the United States .
“I am thrilled about the invitation for our Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys’ Choir to perform at the 2006 Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio next February. This is a huge honor for these young gentlemen and for the choral program at Cook Middle School ,” said Marcotte. “We are excited to be representing our campus and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District at this prestigious event. I am proud of the hard work and dedication these boys have shown to achieve such an honor.”
