Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District trustees honored Kirk Elementary School teacher Brian Woodrome during the June 13 Board meeting.
Woodrome is the winner of the Texas Medical Association’s Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching 2005. Woodrome received a $2,500 cash award and commemorative plaque. A copy of his winning lesson plan “Kirk Medical School” is currently on display on the Texas Medical Association (TMA) Website.
“Brian is an outstanding elementary science teacher. He is a bilingual teacher with a great expertise in science and he also teaches math. Not only did he win the TMA award but he also won the local 2005 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year Award,” said Barbara Cobaugh, coordinator of elementary science.
