Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District trustees honored Marney Collins Sims, general counsel for the district, during the August 8 Board meeting.
Sims was recently selected as a “Rising Star of Texas Law” in the 2005 Texas Super Lawyers periodical. Two journals, Law & Politics and Texas Monthly, jointly sponsor a nomination process whereby only Texas Super Lawyers, attorneys representing the top 5 percent of their profession, nominate attorneys who are under the age of 40 or who have been in practice ten years or less and excel in their area of expertise. The Rising Stars represent only the top 2.5 percent of young attorneys in the state.
“We are very privileged to have her knowledge and expertise in Cy-Fair ISD,” said Dr. David Anthony, superintendent of schools. “We are very fortunate to have her with us in this district serving the taxpayers and employees of this district.”
