
Cypress Spring High School graduate Ankur Parikh is one of only three students in the state to receive a scholarship in the Micron Science and Technology Scholars program.
Parikh received a $16,500 scholarship from Micron and was honored at the awards banquet in June in Boise, Idaho with Micron CEO Steve Appleton and other company and Foundation leaders.
Parikh scored a perfect 1,600 on his SAT test. He is also a National Merit Semifinalist, Science Olympiad state and district gold and silver honoree, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) president and district champion, and an AP Scholar with Honor. Parikh also finds time to participate in National Honor Society and concert, jazz and marching band. He will study electrical engineering at Princeton University.
The award also entails a $1,000 grant from Micron to Cypress Springs High School to use for science and technology programs.
