Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District will open Danish Elementary School, Lee Elementary School, Kahla Middle School, and Spillane Middle School for the 2005-06 school year and Cypress Woods High School for the 2006-07 school year. Committees will soon be in the process of studying options and receiving public input regarding attendance boundaries for these schools.
The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees approved the charge to the administrative boundary committee and the process for changing attendance boundaries during the September 13, 2004 Board meeting. Interested persons may access the charge, the process, and the schedule of meetings via the district’s Web site at www.cfisd.net.
Danish Elementary will be located on Fallbrook Dr. just north of FM 1960 and will open for the 2005-06 school year. Lee Elementary will be located on W. Little York just east of Eldridge Parkway and will open for the 2005-06 school year. Kahla Middle School will be located on W. Little York just west of Hwy. 6 and will open for the 2005-06 school year.
Spillane Middle School will be located at the corner of Skinner Rd. and Jarvis Rd. and will open for the 2005-06 school year. Cypress Woods High School will be located at the corner of Skinner Rd. and Jarvis Rd. and will open for the 2006-07 school year.
The various boundary options being considered by the committees will be available for viewing on the district’ Web site in November. Input regarding the attendance boundary options may be sent electronically through the district’s Web site or by submitting letters to CFISD Planning and Research, 10300 Jones Rd., Houston, TX, 77065 or via fax at 281-897-6410.
While the community advisory committee meetings are open to the public, patrons may not actively participate in the meetings. It is expected that decisions regarding attendance boundaries for these schools will be made at the meeting of the Board of Trustees on January 18, 2005.
