ARAGON MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR FINALS
IN ALLEY THEATRE PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
Two Aragon Middle School
students have qualified for the finals in the Barbara Jordan and T.F. Freeman
Memorial Speech Competition, that was held at the Alley Theatre in December.
Ashley Arbilo and Brock Burdyl were among 42 Houston-area middle school students
to present original, five-minute speeches December 6. Eight finalists advanced
from that group to compete in the finals, which will be held February 2 at 7
p.m. in the Alley Theatre. The students are taught by Amy Piotrowski and Eli
Rodriguez.
“This is the first time Cy-Fair ISD students have participated in this
competition, and having two students advance to the finals out of very strong
competition is exciting,” said Piotrowski. “Our students’
confidence and speaking skills have grown tremendously. These are two truly
outstanding students.”
