CYPRESS CREEK HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES ATHLETES SIGNING TO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
Cypress Creek High School hosted a signing celebration in April and one in May to honor four athletes who signed on with colleges and universities throughout the United States. Parents, coaches, teachers, family and friends were at the event to congratulate and show their support to the athletes as they each signed to university/college sports teams. In April, Lauren Kuhner signed a National Letter of Intent for a full scholarship to Southern Methodist University in Dallas for track and field and Sara Douglas signed a National Letter of Intent for tennis and committed to Brevard College in Brevard, N.C. Two All-District performers from the Cougar varsity football team, Cameron Overstreet and Ashton Piechota , were recognized at the May signing celebration. As the captain on the field and the anchor of the offensive line closed out their high school careers, Overstreet and Piechota received scholarships to play at Briar Cliff College in Iowa. “Ashton and Cameron have proven to be great assets to Cypress Creek and will be sorely missed, but they deserve this success which is due to their diligent hard work and support from teammates, friends and family,” said Danny Ramsey, offensive line varsity football coach.
