Cy-Fair girls win to advance to regional semifinals

Feb. 22, 2007 —The Cy-Fair girls basketball team remains undefeated and has earned its third consecutive UIL State Playoff victory with a 48-30 win over Eisenhower in the Class 5A Region III Quarterfinal on Wednesday night.

The 35-0 Bobcats took a commanding 16-4 lead in the first quarter and coasted to the win at Aldine ISD’s Campbell Center. Junior post Nneka Ogwumike was the top scorer with 18 points, while Megan Majewski added 11.

Cy-Fair will face Fort Bend Dulles (30-8) in the Region III Semifinal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Campbell Center, 1865 Aldine Bender Road. If Cy-Fair wins that game, it will play for the Region III championship on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Campbell Center.
