Cy-Fair, LCHS advance to regional semis
May 21, 2007 —Both the Cy-Fair and Langham Creek high school baseball teams won their best-of-three Region III-5A Quarterfinal series over the weekend to advance to the regional semifinals this week.
Langham Creek dominated Baseball America’s No. 1 team in the nation, Katy, by sweeping the Tigers, 1-0 and 6-0. The Lobos are now 32-2 on the year and will face Kingwood in a best-of-three regional semifinal series. Game one will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at LCHS, game two will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Kingwood, and game three, if necessary, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday at Jersey Village HS.
Cy-Fair also swept through the regional quarterfinals by knocking off Memorial with scores of 7-2 and 9-5. The Bobcats are now 27-7 on the season and will meet Fort Bend Elkins in a best-of-three regional semifinal series. Game one is set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Cy-Fair HS, game two will be at 7 p.m. on Friday at Elkins and game three, if needed, is planned for 4 p.m. on Saturday at Katy Morton Ranch HS. |
