JVHS athletes win $16,250 in scholarships

 

May 21, 2007 — The Jersey Village High School All Sports Booster Club recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to 15 senior student athletes whose parents are members of the Booster Club as of March 31.

To win the scholarships, the athletes had to complete the scholarship application and could not have received a full scholarship to any university.

An additional $1,250 scholarship was awarded to a student in honor of Rosemary Maddox, the mother of baseball coach Mike Maddox, who recently passed away. Football and baseball athlete Garrett Graham won the inaugural Rosemary Maddox Scholarship.

The other 15 scholarships were awarded to the following JVHS athletes, listed with their varsity sport:

Andrea Henneke , volleyball; Jonathan Brown , basketball; Joshua Morrow, football; Chase Filaroska, swimming; Karen Groschke, volleyball and softball; Rachel Hengst, volleyball; Jacob Long, football; Collin Greuter, baseball; Bethany Ripple, soccer; Delaney Elliott, swimming; Joseph Moore, football and baseball; Danielle Wood, cross country and track; James Nelson, football and soccer; Bethany Kuhlman, basketball and softball; and Jessica Jennett, volleyball and basketball.
