Cy-Fair advances to finals
June 7, 2007—Cy-Fair High School’s baseball team (31-7) is looking for a state championship after defeating Baseball America’s No. 2–ranked Klein Collins 3-0 today in Round Rock.
This will be the second time—the first time was in 1984—that the Bobcats will make an appearance in Class 5A state finals. Tommy Collier was the winning pitcher for the Bobcats, pitching a five-hit, complete shutout, allowing no walks and recording seven strikeouts.
The championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. The Cy-Fair Bobcats will face off with the winner of today’s Midland Lee-Harlingen South game.
