October 29, 2007 — The Cy-Fair High School girls won the District 17-5A Cross Country Meet, held Friday, Oct. 26, at Spring Creek Park in Tomball. Five CFISD teams and 16 CFISD individual athletes will advance to the Region III-5A meet, to be held at North Harris County College on Nov. 3.

Finishing behind the Cy-Fair girls were Cypress Falls in second place and Cypress Woods in third place. In the boys race, Strake Jesuit won the district title, followed by Cypress Falls in second place and Cy-Fair in third place.

The following CFISD runners, indicated by their individual district finish, will compete at regionals:

Girls Division

1) Nicole Peters, senior, Langham Creek; 2) Jordan Hopper, sophomore, Cypress Falls; 3) Kylie Fitzgerald, junior, Cypress Woods; 4) Monica Longoria, senior, Cypress Falls; 5) Kerrie Alford, junior, Cy-Fair; 6) Amanda Jenkins, junior, Cy-Fair; 7) Madeline Livergood, freshman, Cy-Fair; 8) Jennifer Rembach, sophomore, Cy-Fair; 9) Brandy Smith, senior, Cy-Fair; and 10) Lauren McKenna, freshman, Cypress Falls.

Boys Division

1) Blake Shaw, senior, Cypress Falls ; 3) Richard Renteria, sophomore, Cypress Creek; 7) Alan Czepinski, senior, Cy-Fair; 8) Scott Hume, junior, Cy-Fair; 9) Mark Pereida, junior, Cypress Falls ; and 10) Vince Florez, sophomore, Cypress Woods.
