October 30, 2007 —Cypress Falls High School junior quarterback Kolby Gray was named the Houston Chronicle Boys Athlete of the Week for his performance last week in a 56-14 win over Langham Creek High School.

Gray completed 27 of 37 pass attempts for a career-high of 482 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. It was Gray’s third time to throw for more than 400 yards in 2007.

It marked the second consecutive week that a Cypress Falls football player was named Boys Athlete of the Week. Senior running back Shane Turner earned the award for his four-touchdown effort against Cy-Fair High School on Oct. 18.
