October 31, 2007 — The Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high school volleyball teams both won their Region III-5A bi-district playoff matches on Tuesday.

Cy-Fair defeated Alief Elsik in a three-game sweep at Seven Lakes High School , 25-19, 25-14, 25-8. The Lady Bobcats advance to the area playoff round on Thursday, when they will face Lamar High School at the Campbell Center (1865 Aldine Bender Road) at 7:30 p.m.

Cypress Woods defeated Katy Taylor in four games at the Berry Center, 25-21, 20-25, 25-12, 25-22. The Lady Wildcats will meet Bellaire High School in the area round at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Butler Stadium (13755 Main St.).

The Cypress Falls and Langham Creek high school volleyball teams completed their seasons as bi-district playoff qualifiers. Cypress Falls was the third-place team and Langham Creek was the fourth-place team in District 17-5A.
