November 12, 2007 — Cypress Springs High School principal Sarah Harty was named the new principal for Cypress Lakes High School when it opens for the 2008-2009 school year. Her transfer was announced during the regularly scheduled Board meeting on Monday night.

Harty has spent all 25 years of her education career in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She served seven years as a teacher, three years as an assistant principal and five years as an associate principal at Jersey Village High School; three years as an associate principal and seven years as the principal at Cypress Springs High School.

Harty earned her bachelor of arts in English from Vanderbilt University and her master of arts in English from the University of Houston. She is certified in Secondary English (6-12), and as a Mid-management Administrator and a Superintendent.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to open Cypress Lakes High School,” Harty said. “We intend to take enthusiasm, heartiness and valor into the school when we open it next fall.”
