November 12, 2007 — Cy-Fair High School principal Darlene Medford was named the new principal for Cypress Ranch High School when it opens for the 2008-2009 school year. Her transfer was announced during the regularly scheduled Board meeting on Monday night.
Medford has spent 26 years in education—18 of those in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She served eight years as a teacher at Cy-Fair High School; four years as a teacher and four years as an assistant principal at Kingwood High School in Humble ISD; three years as an assistant principal at Campbell Middle School; three years as the principal at Truitt Middle School; and the last four years as the principal at Cy-Fair High School.
Medford earned her bachelor of science in Education from the University of Texas-Permian Basin and her master of education in Education from Stephen F. Austin University. She has certifications in Secondary English (6-12), Secondary Health and Physical Education (6-12) and as a Mid-management Administrator.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to open Cypress Ranch,” Medford said. “I know what a challenge it will be to open a new high school, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
