McGuffie selected to participate in U.S. Army All-American Bowl

November 16, 2007 — Cy-Fair High School running back Sam McGuffie was named this week to the West Team roster for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, to be held at noon on Jan. 5 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game will be broadcast live on NBC (Comcast Cable Ch. 12).

Only the best high school football players are selected to take part in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, joining the ranks of NFL greats such as Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Adrian Peterson and 60 other NFL players who are All-American alumni.

According to the U.S. Army, players are chosen who embody the characteristics of an Army Strong Soldier—demonstrating strength through loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage on a daily basis.

McGuffie finished the regular season as the leading rusher in District 17-5A. He has gained 1,102 yards on 131 carries and scored 16 touchdowns through 10 games.
