December 1, 2007 —The Cypress Ridge High School football team wrapped up its season as Region III-5A semifinalists following a 24-21 loss to Fort Bend Hightower on Saturday afternoon at the Berry Center .

Hightower placekicker Jake Kane kicked a 50-yard field goal as time expired to give the Hurricanes (10-3) the win over the Rams.

Cypress Ridge finished the 2007 season with an 11-2 record and a District 17-5A championship.
